Enlightenment indicated by individual signs
Looking for confirmation of your spiritual progress can be the ego. Simply say, “I am where I am,” in regards to your own spiritual advancement.
“Enlightenment” is about removing things, not adding them.
Imagine your entire being (body, mind, heart, and soul) is a room with a single light bulb in the center. If there is a bunch of stuff in the room crowding the space, then the light is blocked and not reaching all parts of the room. If the room is really crowded then the light is smothered and reaches very little.
The spiritual path is about removing these boxes, clutter, and obstacles in the room. You remove one big box — the light spreads into a new part of the room… so on, and son on. Until the room is empty and the light shines and fills the whole room.
It’s not about trying to turn on the light or make the light shine brighter (the light is always on and shines infinitely bright). It’s about removing the things that block the light.
