How to Meditate for 1 Hour

It’s not how you expect.

#1 Cushion

If you have tight legs and hips, buy a meditation cushion. You’re not going to jump into a full-blown lotus posture as a beginner. If you’re really enjoying your mediation practice and want to explore it further, a cushion is well worth the investment. A cushion will also help you with #2.

#2 Posture

Keep your back, chest, and neck straight and in Alignment, even if it’s more challenging at first. Also, slightly engage your core, this will support your back.

#3 Breathing

Breathe naturally and comfortably. Feel free to take a few initial deep breaths to set the space for yourself. Once you’re settled in, lean into your natural rhythm of breath.

#4 Progression

Set a timer. Start with shorter sessions and build up to 1 hour as you progress. Take your time, and enjoy the process. Check that ego.

#5 Consistency

It’s better to meditate 5 minutes daily than meditate for 1 hour every week. Put the ego aside and pick a time you know you can stick with. Progress from there.

#6 Patience

Meditation is a practice of patience and communion. Would you hurry your grandmother along as she tells you…

Very informative article. Either 5 min or more than an hour, starting meditation on daily basis is important. Also, doing it correctly is helpful

If you have tight legs and hips, buy a meditation cushion.

Very important to prevent legs from falling asleep or interrupting your session!
