If God wanted everyone to attain liberation, why did he create such a beautiful universe?

The truth of who we are.

Want I’m about to say is limited based on my level of experience, knowledge, and awareness. I have not realized God indefinitely (yet); that being said, the words that follow will exist only if it’s God’s will.

Though God needs no reason or defense to justify creation, ONE of the reasons he created the Universe is because of play. Why he would do such a thing is another topic worth talking about it.

ONE of the reasons the Universe exists is to play, enjoy, have fun, create, discover, etc. So God created this beautiful (and horrible) Universe as the set of his play; and we are the actors in the play. We all have a unique role to play in this Cosmic Play. Now, in a play like Romeo and Juliet, all the actors and actresses know they’re in a play; but, in order to be really good and convincing, the actors will really believe they are their character — this is what makes it really convincing. The same thing applies to us — most of us really believe we are the character we’re playing. Thinking you’re really the character in the play equals non-liberation. Realizing you’re merely an actor on the set of the play, and realizing your true identity indefinitely equals moksha — liberation. We’ll also set liberation equal to God.
