Life is a Play
And it can either be a Comedy or a Tragedy. You choose.
A long winded day blew into my life,
It was filled with toil and strife.
Across the bay I saw a boy running free,
Running wild and throwing himself into the Sea.
I imagined the boy coming to me and saying:
“Mister, why do you think so hard, let’s go playing.”
“Oh, but I can’t; I may realize that I am not what I think I am.”
I may realize that I am that I am, something like a Surrendering Lamb.
And I could let go of what I want for myself and other people, and throw
Myself into the Loving Sea.
With you I could be, little boy, running wild, and playing free.
So I splashed myself into the Sea, and ran my hair through the sand,
I crawled across the bay like an Ocean Man, and welcomed the Sun to tan.
Salt water filled my eyes as I tumbled through the white water; I cried Out:
“Oh, how sweet the Ocean’s roar, it’s breath of which I’ll have some more!”
As the waves recede with the day, “I enjoyed this time with you,” it did say.
I shuffle my feet up the dune, and set my eyes on a Full Moon.
A long winded day blew into my life,
It was filled with toil and strife.
For I thought it was here to stay, it was merely myself on the Set of a Play.
