When does spirituality cause psychological damage?

Expanding human consciousness can lead to psychological damage if:

1. You use the path of chemicals irresponsibly.
2. You “take” or are “greedy” with spiritual knowledge.
3. You beg and plead for something to be given to you, you get it, but you weren’t ready for it.

There are of course other things. But the above are a few big ones. With chemicals you can be exposed to things that your vehicle is not ready to be exposed to. If you’re vehicle is rated to handle 100 watts of spiritual energy and you come into contact with 200 watts through chemicals, then that has the potential to “fry your circuit board.”

If you try to take spiritual energy/knowledge out of desire for power, greed, etc., then the result is the same as frying your circuit board. You consumed/took something you were not prepared or even allowed to have. Think about Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, the bad guys were greedy and looked upon the light inside the ark and they melted.

The third scenario is where you beg and pray for insight that you’re not ready for. It’s possible that God grants a glimpse of Truth, but you ask it to be taken away because you realize you are not prepared for the Truth. It’s too shocking, scary, and fear-inducing. If that’s the…
